When you think about it – what is different about a B&Ber versus a regular traveler?  Well, B&Bers are generally people who are looking for more of a relaxed place to be and they truly like to take in everything about the bed and breakfast.  However, did you know that there are tons of different tips that can really help you appreciate your bed and breakfast?  That is what we are going to talk about in the next few blogs!

One of the first things that you, as the B&Ber need to do is make sure that you ask a heck of a lot of questions about the bed and breakfast before you book.  You want to make sure that you are choosing something that not only looks amazing, but also that suits all of your needs. 

Choosing a bed and breakfast that might be a little on the modern side only works for some people.  There are other bed and breakfasts that actually are historic and if you love history, that would work for you.

When you think about it, what is the best place in the world to be when it is Halloween?  Well – a haunted house, if you can’t be in a haunted house specifically, what about a haunted B&B?  That is my thought and in the last post, we explored on of the top B&B’s that is haunted and now, we are going to tale a look at another one nestled in Valparaiso, IN!

The Inn at Aberdeen is actually the Inn that is featured in the book Haunted Hoosier trails.  There are so many different ghosts tucked away in this one – this one inn, it truly is amazing.  Guests have reported seeing a little girl ghost that has been known to mess with the guest’s stuff.  This little girl ghost also has been known to turn on the fireplace in their rooms.

The Indiana ghost trackers investigated this particular inn and reported that the original owners died with her two children.  Imagine – a haunted inn on Halloween, what could be better?

By far – Halloween is the best time to go on vacation.  Not only is this particular holiday fun but the landscape of where you go is awesome.  Now – check this out, did you know that there are actually haunted places … hotels, bed and breakfasts and even particular rooms that you can go stay in?  Well, there are and we are going to explore a couple of them.  The first is Strawberry Creek Inn B&B.

This particular B&B is has gone through many, many different incarnations.  From a restaurant all the way to a home for troubled boys and now – it is a bed and breakfast.  A local clairvoyant actually spotted six different spirits in this house and honestly, it is scary!  Guests have reported everything from a freezing cold room all the way to a little spirit girl asking if the guest was her mommy.

Pictures have flown off of the walls and sometimes doors are held shut – all of this happens and if it is something you are into, that might – might be a great place for you to stay!

I have to say that one of the best travel places in the world is going to be Fiji – most of all Turtle Island.  While most of the time, whenever people think about Fiji, they think about honeymoons, that is not necessarily all that you need to go there for.  You can actually do a lot of stuff on a family vacation or even if you do just want to go as a couple.

Fiji is the type of place that has all sorts of different beaches available and to be quite frank, it is the place that you can go to relax, unwind and completely forget about all of your worries.  Another cool thing about Fiji is that because there are so many beaches – the beaches themselves are not usually crowded with all sorts of people.

The beaches aren’t the only thing that Fiji has going for it either – the fantastic the food is another.  There are a ton of different restaurants that service all sorts of food that is awesome!

When you talk about Detroit, what is usually the first thing that pops into your head?  With me – it is home.  However, the automotive industry is actually the first thing that usually comes to mind whenever Detroit is mentioned.  However, the great thing about Detroit is that it is full of traditions and if you are looking for somewhere to go on Labor Day – you should take a trip down to Detroit for the International Jazz Festival!

This four-day event actually kicks off on September 4th and goes all the way for four straight days!  The Jazz Fest attracts all sorts of jazz musicians who take turns providing all sorts of free entertainment on five different stages.  Giant – huge puppets, street performers and even a children’s Bop Area is just a few of the added pleasures in Detroit for the Jazz Fest!

Already booked are over 100 events and if you want an experience like never before … Detroit is the place to be this Labor Day!

When I think about London, the first thing I think about is the luxury hotels that they have there.  There are truly some beautiful hotels in the UK and the Athenaeum is one of those brands that I think is not only beautiful – but five star and definitely the accommodations fit for a queen.  However, have you seen The Athenaeum that overlooks London’s Green Park?  This hotel in particular actually has a ‘living wall’ – for real!

This particular design was given to the hotel by Patrick Blanc and it is actually a vertical garden that covers the hotel’s eight-story façade with an exotic array of greenery that is rooted into an irrigated felt surface that was put down on this particular side of the wall.  This impressive garden is home to herbs and plants from all over the globe.

If you happen to get to stay in the rooms along that wall – you are a lucky one!  You can really reach out and touch the green for proof that it is real!

We all know that finding cheap Las Vegas hotel rooms is something that is not all that hard … you just have to know exactly what you are doing, which most people – let’s be honest, do not.  Priceline and hotwire are great places to start your research for hotel rates as you can certainly find some really good rates on there.  The key?  You need to be flexible with your dates.  You need to find the best possible rate and then schedule your days off of work.

When you are trying to find a cheap vacation place, especially Vegas, it is not about when you want to go, it is all about when the rates are available for you and honestly, that is something that a lot of people have a hard time with.  Another thing that you can do is sign up for any newsletters that airlines or hotels are giving out, so that way you are up-to-date on any specials that might be going on during a certain time.

Finally, research!  Do not settle for the very first rate that you are quoted … after all, you want to make sure that you find the best rate and that is going to take some research on your part!

Egypt is one of those places that my grandmother always wanted to go when she was around – I just lost her in March and I have to say that Egypt is still going to be a passion of mine.  Egypt vacations are something that are so unique and different and there is so much that you can do that I swear that you have never done before.  For example – a camel is something that you can ride in Egypt and while they might spit at you, they are still one animal that not many people get close to, much less ride.

Some of the beautiful sites to see in Egypt are breathtaking – like the pyramids.  I have to say that, those are something that I can not wait to see – ever.  Egypt is the only place that has them and the only place that you can truly get the feel for how Egyptian’s live and feel every day of their life.

Egypt is also hot – so make sure that you drink plenty of water and bring shorts with you, because the heat can get you – it is after all, all about the desert over that!

Now that we have talked about some of the places that you can go in Myrtle Beach, we are now going to touch base on some of the things that you and your family can do together.  One of the first things that you can do is go golfing.  Golfing is something that everyone can do, but if you just want to send your husband, there are a ton of different golf courses available in Myrtle Beach and he can truly have his pick!

The next thing that you have to make sure that you see is Broadway at the Beach.  This is a place that has so many different restaurants; it truly is hard to pick one.  There are also a ton of different carnival rides to choose form and every Tuesday at 10pm, you can count on a fireworks display being shot off!

Myrtle Beach is a place that you should check into for your first of many family vacations … there is something for everyone here and you should take advantage of that!

When you are looking for a vacation spot in the summer – it’s hard to choose the right one.  There are so many different destinations to choose from however, when you are bringing children – you truly need to make sure that you pick a place that is going to be fun for your kids as well.  That is why Myrtle Beach is the perfect location for you.  There are a ton of different activities that you can embark upon and Myrtle Beach really has something for everyone!
