Touring Colonial Williamsburg with Your Family

Carriage_WilliamsburgAs we at Inyaka have mentioned before, sometimes you do not have to go all that far to enjoy the best vacation ever. Typically with family vacations, you want something that is not only going to be fun and memorably for everyone, but which will be somewhat educational as well.

Colonial Williamsburg presents that kind of opportunity for vacationing families in the United States, in all of North America, and really those from anywhere else who choose to visit the United States on their holiday.

Located in southeast Virginia, Williamsburg was settled nearly four hundred years ago, in 1632. John D. Rockerfeller Jr. made it his mission to restore the historic city in 1926, and so commissioned the demolition of about seven hundred modern houses, paving the way for the renovation of already existing colonial buildings, as well as the creation of more than four hundred new ones — built on their original sites, of course.

The inhabitants of this town walk around in costume, which makes for an experience which is both fun and educational. With Busch Gardens nearby as well, there is definitely something for everyone!
