Taking a Trip to Trafalgar Square!

Trafalgar_SquareYou have heard about it, you may have seen it in popular culture, but the only way to truly experience the beauty and excitement of Trafalgar Square is to visit it yourself. It is the biggest square in all of London, and ever since the Middle Ages, it has been considered a central meeting place.

There are so many cultural and historical sites to see there, you absolutely cannot and should not pass up a visit. Consider Nelson’s column, for instance, which is located right in the middle of Trafalgar Square. Originally it was built to commemorate Admiral Horatio Lord Nelson’s victory over the dreaded French fleet in the Battle of Trafalgar, which took place October 21, 1805.

The National Gallery is there as well, which contains over twenty three hundred paintings. There you can see famed works by Renoir, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Leonardo da Vinci, among many others.
